New faspex Server 2.0 Supports Enterprise-Scale Deployments with Powerful Management Tools and Intuitive User Interface
Aspera, Inc., creators of next-generation software technologies that move the world's digital assets at maximum speed regardless of file size, transfer distance or network conditions, today released the next-generation of its faspex™ person-to-person file delivery software. Based on the performance and reliability of Aspera's industry-standard transport software, Aspera faspex Server 2.0 provides an intuitive, efficient way for individuals or groups to collaborate and exchange files and directories of any size, while benefitting from Aspera's unrivalled transfer speed.
Facing stiffer competition in a global economy, corporations require "FedEx"-like capabilities in the electronic domain — speed, guaranteed delivery, priority service levels — with uncompromising security, comprehensive management, tracking and monitoring. faspex Server enables the global enterprise to collaborate, outsource and geographically distribute data processing in all industries.
Key applications include:
- Global collaboration — Enables rapid sharing of data for geographically distributed teams working collaboratively
- Digital asset distribution — Facilitates corporate-wide replacement of e-mail attachments and shared volumes paradigms for exchanging and distributing data
- Internal file-based workflows — Allows for streamlined, remote review and approval, and global quality assurance processes
- Outsourcing — Enables high-speed data exchange with remote partners
How faspex Server Works
Users simply create and receive digital deliveries from an easy-to-use web interface or simple desktop application that closely replicates the experience of sending an e-mail. Recipients are notified via e-mail and Aspera's patented fasp™ transport technology handles the movement of data to and from the server. Built for the most demanding enterprise workflows, the Aspera faspex Server includes comprehensive user and server administration capabilities and can be monitored and controlled via Aspera Console, Aspera's centralized web-based transfer management application.
"Overcoming network bottlenecks is a huge priority as enterprises become increasingly dispersed and busy professionals need to share content across global boundaries," said Michelle Munson, president and co-founder of Aspera. "Designed for the enterprise, faspex enables individuals and groups to quickly and reliably share files over IP networks. The new release features an enhanced user interface, supports deployments of thousands of users with centralized management, enhanced configuration capabilities, and synchronized user management to achieve new levels of efficiency and control across the enterprise."
