Vestas did not give details of the deal, but referred to 'rumours in the market' that it had been chosen to supply turbines for a 252-megawatt offshore project.
'Vestas can confirm that an agreement has been reached between the German company PNE Wind AG and Vestas regarding supply of turbines for the project Gode Wind II,' Vestas Wind Systems A/S said in a statement.
Vestas added that the agreement is conditional upon final financing and said it would make an announcement with further details of the project once that is in place.
