WHAT: Richard Armitage, Former Deputy Secretary of State during the first
term of President George W. Bush, will deliver the keynote
address, Leadership in Action, to a select group of financial
professionals at The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc.'s
inaugural Leadership Series, June 23, 2005, at the New
York Stock Exchange. Armitage will offer thoughts about the
leadership skills needed for success in the ever-changing
financial services industry.
The Leadership event also will include the release of findings
from a major national survey of retirees and pre-retirees
commissioned by The Hartford to examine how individuals 50 to 65
years old hope to benefit, both financially and psychologically,
from working with a financial advisor. The Hartford contracted
Greenwald & Associates, a premier financial market research firm,
to conduct the study.
Also scheduled to speak at the New York Stock Exchange event are
Tom Marra, Hartford Life president and chief operating officer;
John Walters, executive vice president and director of the
investment products division of Hartford Life; Quincy Krosby,
chief investment strategist at The Hartford and an expert in
macroeconomic and geopolitical trends and how they impact capital
markets; and Dr. Mathew Greenwald, president, Greenwald &
Associates.
The event will conclude with John Walters and Richard Armitage
ringing the Closing Bell(TM) at the New York Stock Exchange.
