LONDON (AFX) - UK sportswear retailers JJB Sports PLC and JD Sports stand to benefit from a new brand management campaign by Nike and Adidas, with discount sportswear chain Sports World potentially losing out, the Financial Times reported.
The FT said Nike and Adidas are planning to ask retailers who stock their products to comply with new rules on customer service and display quality, in an attempt to take their brands upmarket.
The paper said the move comes in response to concerns that the image of their products is being damaged by poor presentation in cheap stores. newsdesk@afxnews.com mn/slm COPYRIGHT Copyright AFX News Limited 2006.
