Total Computer Group of Melville, New York and Cyclops
Technologies of Clearwater, Florida, today announced the formation of
a powerful new strategic alliance. This partnership will unite the
immense power of Total Computer's Records Management System, with
Cyclops' cutting edge License Plate Recognition (LPR) technologies. As
the nation marks the fifth anniversary of the September 11 World Trade
Center attack, Americans are asking the question, "Are we safer than
we were 5 years ago?" Security experts agree that while America is
doing better, there is still tremendous room for improvement. Two
large areas of concern: the ability to access and cross reference
information, and rapid, automated identification of known suspects.
The combined product that the alliance of these companies will
produce, addresses both of these important issues.
"We are extremely excited about what this partnership represents," said Cyclops President, Richard Demartini. "Total Computer Group has created arguably the most unified and comprehensive data sourcing application available to law enforcement agencies, and they share our passion for automated data entry as evidenced by their Total Enforcement Records Management System. Adding our advanced license plate imaging technologies to their suite will create a "super tool", that can run 24/7 hands free. The potential application of the combined technologies is immense."
Al Perez, Chief Software Architect for Total Computer Group, had this to say about the alliance with Cyclops, "The combination of these 2 technologies into one system brings a tool of unprecedented capabilities to Law Enforcement. BOLO (hit list) distribution will now be fully automated. The mobile capabilities of Total Enforcement with real time data and a high level automation is a perfect match for LPR implementation. The merging of these 2 technologies truly brings tools and capabilities to law enforcement never before available."
The Cyclops product, PlateSmart(TM), is software based, and represents a price breakthrough in LPR technologies. Until recently, agencies interested in LPR have had no choice but to purchase bundled solutions that included hardware, software and high-end fixed mounted cameras. PlateSmart(TM) utilizes existing laptops and business grade cameras to operate, and as a result, is cost effective for wide deployment in any agency.
The two companies intend to move rapidly and Total Computer is expected to distribute free trials of the Cyclops License Plate Recognition software as an optional module to its customer user base in the very near future. Both companies will also continue to sell their products individually to meet customer needs.
The Total Enforcement Records Management System(C) delivers powerful advantages of real-time data, overall agency efficiency, high productivity through data element reuse, complete NYSPIN (New York State Police Information Network) access and advanced search capabilities for general law-enforcement effectiveness.
