Tom Fisher, chief information officer, DriveCam Inc., a global Driver Risk Management company, has been named a Technology Executive of the Year by the San Diego Business Journal and Cox Business. Fisher was selected as one of twelve honorees, out of 30 award finalists. The executives were honored at an awards ceremony at the San Diego Marriot & Marina Hotel Wednesday evening.
The event marked the first annual Technology Executive of the Year awards, which recognize the most outstanding technology executives who work in San Diego, as nominated by employees or clients.
"I am honored to receive this award," said Fisher. "Through my team's dedication to innovation, we have effectively moved the company to SaaS and will continue to remain on the forefront of technology so that we can continue to offer our clients the most effective solution to reduce risky driving."

Fisher brings more than 25 years of leadership and IT experience to DriveCam, previously holding positions with Qualcomm, eBay, Gateway Computers and IBM. He is also active with a number of leading venture capital firms, including Clearstone Capital, Foundation Capital, JMI and Odyssey/Sail Venture Partners. Fisher graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he serves on the Board of Advisors for the College of Computing and Informatics.
