Gilman Ciocia, Inc. and Pro Golfer Rob Dinwiddie Team Up to Make U.S. Open Debuts

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y., June 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Gilman Ciocia, Inc., a leading provider of tax and financial planning services, today announced it is the exclusive financial services-based sponsor of pro golfer Rob Dinwiddie who will be competing in the first major championship of his career at this week's 2008 U.S. Open in San Diego, Calif.

Dinwiddie enters his first major as a golfer to watch after an impressive showing in recent weeks on the European Tour. A native of Barnard Castle, England, Dinwiddie has amassed three top-10 finishes in his past eight events highlighted by shattering the course record at England's Wentworth Club during the second round of the BMW PGA Championship last month. He also recorded a third place finish at the BMW Asian Open earlier this year. Dinwiddie is the first golfer ever to hold the English, Scottish and Welsh Stroke Play Championships at the same time and was a member of the 2005 Walker Cup team.

The tax and financial planning services firm which is already active in the sports marketing realm, having sponsorships with the Mets baseball organization during the regular season, and with the Yankees, Cardinals and Marlins during spring training in Florida, is now expanding its reach into pro golf.

"We congratulate Rob Dinwiddie on competing in his first major. We are thrilled to sponsor this international star athlete in the making at his inaugural U.S. Open appearance," said Michael Ryan, president and CEO of Gilman Ciocia. "We are excited to now add golf to our sports marketing agenda, as it is another great avenue to generate brand awareness and recognition, both on and off the course."

"I am very appreciative of the support from Gilman Ciocia as I make my major championship debut this week," said Dinwiddie. "Playing in the U.S. Open is something I have always strived for and I am looking forward to competing against the world's best on one of the biggest stages in golf."
