Iberia, Vueling suspended from trading

MADRID, July 7 (Reuters) - Trade in shares of Spanish airlines Iberia <IBLA.MC> and Vueling <VULG.MC> was suspended on Monday pending an announcement from Vueling, the stock market regulator said on Monday.

Shareholders in Clickair, part-owned by Iberia, began merger talks with Vueling shareholders earlier this year as soaring oil prices increased the need to consolidate Spain's fragmented airline market.

An Iberia spokesman would make no comment.
