BroadVision, Inc., (NASDAQ:BVSN), a global provider of strategic e-business solutions, today announces that Malayala Manorama, one of the largest media groups in India, extended its contract with BroadVision to power its online content website - Manorama Online - India's largest news portal.
In order to implement a better end-to-end e-business solution and to differentiate itself from the competitors, Manorama Online decided to switch to the BroadVision® platform thereby providing better stability and scalability for its portal, more advanced personalization features to customers, and smooth integration with the backend systems via XML. In this project, Manorama Online implemented both BroadVision Portal™ and Commerce™ solutions with two add-on services: One-To-One Content and Deployment Center.
"The decision was made because of BroadVision's robust e-commerce engine which enables secure and seamless transaction on the web, yet integrated easily to our existing back-end systems, like SAP," said Ms. Mariam Mammen Mathew, Chief Operating Officer of Manorama Online. "BroadVision's solution not only provides better stability, scalability, and advanced personalized features, but most importantly, great manageability which enables our business managers to change the rulesets that control the content with ease. As a result, this has dramatically increased Manorama Online's traffic and productivity."
Ms. Mathew continues that Manorama Online has over 350 million page views per month and one of the reasons for this was the BroadVision technology and also the support received from BroadVision Global Services on development and implementation.
"We are pleased that the BroadVision solution suites were able to provide a well-packaged solution to help transform a historical media house such as Malayala Manorama to a modern world information conglomerate," commented Dr. Pehong Chen, President and CEO of BroadVision. "This is another proof point to the flexibility of the BroadVision solutions to a variety of global e-businesses."
