Green-Minded Businesses, Real Estate Professionals and Consumers Meet in Sacramento April 3
The Sacramento Green Home Expo, presented by the North State Building Industry Association and various industry partners, will take place Friday, April 3 at the Sacramento Convention Center. The Expo is Northern California’s premier trade show and education event showcasing the latest in environmentally friendly products and services used in the homebuilding and home improvement industries. The free trade show’s hours are 10a.m - 5p.m, and nearly 100 exhibitors and two dozen speakers are expected.
The Expo is an initiative of The North State Building Industry Association, the Home Builders Association of Northern California, Urban Land Institute (ULI) and The Sacramento Association of Realtors. The Expo is a community event for individuals to explore the newest innovations in sustainable products and services used in and for the home. In addition, the special speaking sessions address issues ranging from sustainable neighborhood projects to selling green products and everything in between. For Realtors, a special class on solar homes will be offered with Department of Real Estate Credit as well as a class on retrofitting for existing homes.
The Sacramento Green Home Expo was created as a forum for increasing awareness of energy and environmental challenges, showcasing green products and services, and educating the public and corporate world on the many innovative ways to go green.
“We are thrilled to return for a second year to provide Northern California businesses and residents an event where the most innovative green services and products are all in one place,” said Bob Walter, Chairman of the Sacramento Green Expo Committee and owner of RJ Walter Homes.
The Sacramento Convention Center was selected because of the center’s ability to leave a minimal carbon-footprint. The venue features energy efficient light bulbs and sensory light switches throughout the complex. In addition, the Convention Center has committed to recycling any left-over conference materials and has partnered with the City of Sacramento to recycle and dispose of all leftover wood pallets, metals and light bulbs used for conventions like the Green Home Expo.
