BRIEF-Afren to raise $200 mln via placing

LONDON, Nov 10 (Reuters) - Afren Plc:

* Proposed fundraising to raise approximately US$200 million

* Placing will be used to fund an accelerated appraisal and development of the

broader ebok-okwok complex, further appraisal, infill drilling of afren's c d'ivoire assets and infill drilling on okoro project in nigeria.

* In addition, Afren shall apply a proportion of the proceeds to potential future acquisitions and general corporate purposes.

* Directors do not expect that Afren will pay any dividends in the foreseeable

future
