EDF
Henri Proglio, the new chief executive of the French power company, backtracked from earlier statements on Wednesday, telling Le Figaro that his company was not interested in a stake in Areva.
In a separate interview with the Wall Street Journal, Proglio said EDF could fund its programme of nuclear investments and international expansion through cash.
And on French radio Europe 1, he said he wanted to bring EDF and Veolia closer together, at least 'industrially', although he had no intention of merging the groups. He also said he did not know if electricity prices had to rise, but they would change.

The parent of Airbus said it was repeating financial guidance relating to the delayed A400M military transporter programme after reports of a potential price increase.
BNP PARIBAS
Deutsche Bank and France's BNP Paribas separately sued Bank of America Corp on Wednesday, claiming that the largest U.S. bank breached its obligations on a total of more than $1.7 billion of mortgage-related transactions.

The dairy group will repurchase 1.17 billion euros of bonds to reduce its debt and lower its average cost of debt from next year, the company said on Wednesday. Danone plans to cancel all the bonds it buys and will not re-issue them.

The advertising group is creating Havas Productions, an audio-visual production agency, in partnership with Direct8, the DTT channel owned by Havas Chairman Vincent Bollore, Le Figaro said. The unit is eyeing acquisitions in the sector.
