Exit strategy timing depends on economic strength-Bini Smaghi

MILAN, Jan 29 (Reuters) - Timing for an exit strategy for governments that stepped in to support economies during the crisis will depend on the strength of the economy, European Central Bank Executive Board member Lorenzo Bini Smaghi said on Friday.

He added that recovery in the euro zone would be 'slow, gradual and oscillating.'

Bini Smaghi said the ECB was happy with the reappointment of the head of the Federal Reserve, Ben Bernanke, and that it would end attacks on the Fed.
