The securities firm said it hired three staff for its municipal finance group. Alfredo Quintero joins as a managing director in New York, Richard Allen joins as a managing director of the company's Michigan region and school district business, and Nadine Mentor joins as a senior vice president to run the Florida and Southeast regions.
IRELL & MANELLA
Law firm Irell & Manella said it hired patent lawyer Greg Gardella from Fish & Richardson. Gardella joins as a partner in the firm's Los Angeles office.
BANK OF NEW YORK MELLON
BNY Mellon said it hired Jane Sherburne as senior executive vice president and general counsel. Sherburne will join May 3, replacing Carl Krasik who said in October he will retire this year.
Sherburne most recently ran her own legal practice. She was previously a partner at the Washington, D.C., law firm Wilmer Cutler & Pickering. She also served as a special counsel to President Bill Clinton and as general counsel for Citigroup Inc's global consumer group.
DEUTSCHE BANK
Deutsche Bank hired David Martins da Silva as European head of rates sales from BNP Paribas.
MANULIFE BANK OF CANADA
Manulife Bank of Canada said it named Doug Conick president and chief executive. Conick joined Manulife Financial in 1998. He replaces Roman Fedchyshyn, who recently retired, the company said.
CITIGROUP INC
The financial services provider named Ravi Kapoor head of global banking, India. Kapoor was previously head of south Asia capital markets origination.
AVIVA LIFE INSURANCE
Aviva Life Insurance India named Sandip Mallik director, Human Resources. He had been heading the HR function in Emerson India.
CREDIT SUISSE
The firm named Alexander Toone head of commodities for Asia Pacific, based in Singapore. Toone was most recently global head of sales for commodities, based in London.
BARCLAYS CAPITAL
Rothschild banker Ben Davey resigned after 10 years with the firm to join Barclays Capital as co-head of the European Financial Institutions Group (FIG), sources familiar with the matter told Reuters.
WELSH, CARSON, ANDERSON & STOWE
The private equity investor named David Dvorin senior operating executive, revenue and pricing. Dvorin was most recently vice president, global strategic pricing of Thermo Fisher Scientific
ROTHSCHILD PRIVATE BANKING AND TRUST
The firm appointed Geoff Cone external consultant for its business activities in Latin America. Cone has worked as managing director for Rothschild Trust, New Zealand.
SEB GROUP (SEB Research and SEB Enskilda Research)
The North European financial group named Fredrik Carlsson global head of equity research. Fredrik comes from a position heading SEB's Stockholm Equity Research desk.
The company also named Henrik Mitelman chief strategist at Enskilda Equities, and member of the Enskilda Equities Management Group and Johan Javeus has been named global head of trading strategy.
Both Mitelman and Javeus have also worked with SEB previously.
SOUTHERN BEAR PLC
Southern Bear plc, a holding group focusing on investments in the support services, industrial and engineering sectors of the UK and Europe, named Mark Sims as chief executive with immediate effect.
The company also named Janet Alison Domin executive director.
