MORGAN STANLEY SMITH BARNEY
The retail brokerage said Chris Van Aeken will be head of international wealth management products and services. Van Aeken is a 12-year veteran of Morgan Stanley.
SIDLEY AUSTIN
The law firm said Richard A. Leavy has joined its New York office as a tax partner.
NOMURA SECURITIES INTERNATIONAL
The Japanese bank's U.S. investment banking unit hired Aaron Kohli as interest rate strategist, according to sources familiar with the situation. A Nomura spokesman could not immediately comment on the hire.
Kohli was previously an interest rate strategist at RBS Securities in Stamford, Connecticut.
AXA CHINA
AXA China, part of the French insurer AXA Group, named Paul Carson chief administration officer of AXA Hong Kong, effective April 7.
Prior to joining AXA, Carson was deputy chief executive and chief administration officer for AIA Australia.
KPMG
The auditing firm named David Vallery director of its Remediation Practice.
Vallery joins KPMG from Lloyds Banking Group where he was a managing director of Bank of Scotland's portfolio management services before this business was sold to Rathbone Bros plc.
