Peltier will work alongside Charles-Henri Le-Bret and report to Hermann Prelle and Simon Warshaw, who co-head UBS's investment banking department in the Europe, Middle-East and Africa (EMEA) region, UBS said on Monday.
Deals Peltier worked on at Deutsche Bank included the sale of Sperian to Honeywell and the acquisition by Pernod Ricard of Vin & Sprit in 2008.
He also worked on the acquisition by Schneider Electric and Alstom of Areva's distribution business, UBS said.
Peltier was co-head of Global Banking France at Deutsche Bank. Bruno Hallak will now assume sole leadership of the global banking team in that country, according to an internal Deutsche Bank memo seen by Reuters.
Deutsche confirmed Peltier's departure, but declined to give further detail.
