VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/02/11 -- While many will be savouring this weekend's Labour Day Monday, hundreds of athletes will be up at the crack of dawn to swim, bike and run their way through Vancouver's Stanley Park, helping raise funds for WWF-Canada conservation work.
The 10th Annual Vancouver Triathlon on Monday, September 5, attracts athletes from across North America and beyond, with charity proceeds supporting WWF conservation programs in the Pacific Region.
The popular event produced by Multisport Canada has a $1,500 prize purse distributed among the overall top 3 men and women in the Olympic distance event. More than 600 participants are expected. Last year's race attracted more than 640 athletes and 200 volunteers with funds raised supporting WWF-Canada's work on oceans conservation on B.C.'s Northwest Coast.
