Construction of third glass furnace with one stage method continues in
territory of JSC "Valmieras stikla skiedra-. The creation of the new plant
began at the beginning of the year 2012 and the total amount of investments is
more than 4.5 million lats, and its opening is expected at the end of this
year.
New glass fibre one-stage furnace is intended for production of a special kind of glass, minimizing production costs, modernising processes and obtaining a high added value product at the same time. Only the newest and most progressive technologies are used in the furnace construction process for it to be environmentally friendly. It is expected to be energy-efficient, decreasing the amount of energy use for 40%, and also effective, because the new furnace will provide about 50% higher productivity by using all the production surpluses efficiently.
"During last few years industrial textile industry and related markets have developed and demand has increased for its various products. At times our production capacity, by running two glass furnaces at the same time, had difficulties to meet the demand. With the establishment of the third glass melting furnace we will obtain greater production stability and advantages. In addition, this investment enables us to continue to narrow the inefficient two-stage glass fibre production process or the "glass marble technology- leaving glass marbles in the past. Continuous development and innovation, combined with 50 years of experience in glass fibre production is part of our success and I believe that this project will important impetus for the development and employment of the local region" stated JSC "Valmieras stikla saiedra" chief executive officer A.O. Brutans.
Overall, the 4.57 million lats will be invested in the project of new glass melting furnace construction, of which 976 thousand lats will be co-financing of the Latvian Investment and Development Agency and 3.60 million lats of JSC "Valmieras stikla skiedra" funds. It's planned that the establishment of the new furnace will be completed till december of this year, at the same time putting it into the operation.
JSC "Valmieras stikla skiedra" is focused on the development and innovation. Planning the long-term performance, we've done a lot in the company's modernization and progress. The significant financial resources - 72.92 million LVL have been invested in the period of 2001-2012 (including) to raise the efficiency of the production process; the work continues to develop new projects and ideas to meet customer needs and expectations.
