
COLOGNE (dpa-AFX) - Boeing Co. (BA) Monday said it finalized an order for additional 777-300 Extended Range airplanes, valued at $990 million at current list prices with the Lufthansa Group and Swiss International Air Lines. Earlier, Swiss International has ordered for six 777 -300 Ers, one of the most fuel efficient and cost efficient aircraft, as part of its fleet renewal.
It can carry 386 passengers in a standard three-class configuration up to 7,825 nautical miles or 14,490 kilometers, on non-stop routes.
Swiss International is part of the Lufthansa Group, serving 106 destinations in 49 countries from the Swiss cities of Zurich, Geneva and Basel, carrying over 16 million passengers a year with a fleet of 95 airplanes.
