SAP(R) TechEd '04 to Be the Largest SAP NetWeaver Education Event of the Year

Finanznachrichten News
SAN DIEGO and MUNICH, Germany, Sept. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SAP AG today announced plans for SAP(R) TechEd '04, a series of the largest technology education conferences of the year. The conferences will provide members of the technology community -- software developers, consultants, IT managers and SAP partners -- with the education and tools to turn their IT infrastructures into enablers of business change and growth. SAP TechEd will take place in San Diego, California, from October 5 to 8 at the San Diego Convention Center and in Munich, Germany, from October 12 to 14 at the International Congress Centre. Additional SAP TechEd conferences will be hosted in Bangalore, India, November 22 to 24 and Tokyo, Japan, November 30 to December 2, 2004.

SAP TechEd '04 will serve as the grand finale to the SAP NetWeaver(TM) 50-City World Tour, a nearly year-long event that was launched in response to the growing demand for education on solutions based on the SAP NetWeaver technology platform and the opportunities they present to customers and partners. Due to increasing demand over the year, the 50-city tour turned into a 70-city world tour and has helped many companies understand and apply the business benefits of adopting an open integration and application platform.

The tour ends with the SAP TechEd conferences, which are events for all SAP customers, since all SAP solutions and a growing number of partner solutions are powered by SAP NetWeaver. Due to the successful adoption rate of SAP NetWeaver in 2004, SAP announced it will be offering free, on-site SAP NetWeaver partner certification for those who qualify and a special promotion for conference attendance: companies purchasing three conference registrations will receive an additional fourth registration at no additional charge -- part of SAP's continuing program to build a strong and growing developer community for SAP NetWeaver. For the third consecutive year, more than 97 percent of those who attended last year's SAP TechEd reported that they would recommend the event to their colleagues.

Highlights of SAP TechEd will include keynote presentations by executive board members Shai Agassi, Leo Apotheker and Peter Zencke, who will outline SAP's technology vision and introduce innovative solutions to an expected worldwide audience of 10,000 delegates. In addition, each event will feature up to 300 hands-on educational sessions addressing topics such as business process management, Web services, services oriented architecture and Linux and Java development. SAP will provide updates on innovative technologies such as master data management solutions and SAP xApps(TM) packaged composite applications and make new announcements regarding breakthrough functionality being introduced to the SAP NetWeaver platform.

In addition, SAP TechEd will feature SAP Developer Network-related (sdn.sap.com) special events in the SDN Clubhouse. New to SAP TechEd, the SDN Clubhouse blends the virtual community of SDN with live events to create a real-world SDN experience for conference delegates. Activities will include SDN tours, demos of SAP NetWeaver and leading-edge technologies from the SAP Technology Innovation Center in addition to e-learning seminars, an opportunity to "Meet the Bloggers" and a "Demo Jam" session that recognizes and rewards the top contributors to SDN.

"Starting this year, all SAP solutions will be powered by SAP NetWeaver, which will create a very high demand for qualified SAP NetWeaver experts," said Shai Agassi, member of the executive board, SAP. "SAP TechEd provides the best opportunity for potential partners to prepare for certification and for customers and developers to understand SAP's strategy, map it into their own IT landscapes and evolve toward an enterprise services architecture -- all delivered through inspiring lectures, hands-on training and personalized consulting from the creators of SAP NetWeaver."

Registration information and the conference agenda for each of the SAP TechEd '04 events can be found at http://www.sap.com/usa/teched .
