Mr. Broomfield replaces Mr. Richard L. Ernst. Mr. Ernst has served as President and CEO of HMSA since 1989, when the company was established as the sales and service organization of Hitachi Medical Corporation under a joint venture with Summit World Trade Corporation (Summit World Trade). Upon his retirement, Mr. Ernst will become a member of the HMSA Board of Directors and serve as an ongoing strategic advisor to the company.

In addition to his involvement with HMSA, Mr. Broomfield has been engaged, in various executive capacities, in the development of several other companies in the medical equipment market.
