
The commission "closely monitors the implementation of the Alstom decision", said EU official Barbara Brandtner, who serves in the cabinet of competition commissioner Neelie Kroes.
Speaking at a conference here, Brandtner said Alstom has yet to develop a number of industrial partnerships, in particular in the field of hydro-electricity.
A source close to Alstom said the company is discussing the matter with potential partners.
Last January Kroes threatened to take the French government to the European Court of Justice, the EU's highest court, on the basis that French authorities had not respected commitments they made to the EU in order to get approval their state-aid scheme.
