Deutsche Boerse Jan German exchanges turnover 436.2 bln eur; up 47 pct yr-on-yr

FRANKFURT (AFX) - Deutsche Boerse AG said turnover on the German stock exchanges amounted to 436.2 bln eur in January, up 47 pct from 297.0 bln in the year-earlier period.

Of January's total, 389.4 bln eur was traded in equities, options and exchange-traded funds, and 46.8 bln in fixed-income securities, the exchange operator said.

Around 96.7 pct of volume traded in German equities took place on Deutsche Boerse's Xetra electronic trading platform and the Frankfurt trading floor in the reporting month.

About 8.7 mln transactions were executed on Xetra in November, an increase of 37 pct year-on-year, Deutsche Boerse added. [e-mail] nm/jlw
