Peter Wilby, Stone Harbor's Chief Investment Officer, and virtually all 50 partners were with the Salomon Brothers Asset Management unit. Stone Harbor is an independent investment advisory firm, wholly-owned by its partners.
Stone Harbor focuses on Emerging Debt, High Yield Corporate Debt, Global High Yield and Core and Core Plus Fixed Income. Its $8.5 billion in assets under management is comprised of 30 institutional accounts.
Mr. Wilby described this unique start-up by saying "We have very close relationships with our clients, having worked with some of them for nearly 15 years. Thomas Brock has joined Stone Harbor as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Brock was previously CEO and Chairman of Salomon Brothers Asset Management during the 1990's. Most recently Mr. Brock was a professor of investment management at Columbia University Graduate School of Business in New York City.
Stone Harbor is currently located at 399 Park Avenue in New York City. An office is presently being established in London to focus on servicing clients domiciled outside the United States.
