
SAN FRANCISCO (AFX) -- Wal-Mart Stores Inc. Friday afternoon said its board has nominated Aida Alvarez, former administrator of the Small Business Administration, and James Cash Jr., retired professor of business administration at the Harvard University Business School, for election as directors. The retailer added that directors Jose Villarreal, J. Paul Reason and John Opie won't stand for re-election at the June 2 annual shareholders meeting. The company said Villarreal and Reason are rotating off the board as part of normal governance guidelines, and that Opie is leaving to focus his attention on his duties as lead director of Delphi Corp. .
