
SAN FRANCISCO (AFX) -- Airline stocks opened lower Friday, with AirTran Holdings extending its prior session's losses and again leading decliners even as crude oil prices hit a two-week low. The Amex Airline Index shed 1.4% to 50.47 points, with every issue in the benchmark gauge took a hit. AirTran fell 3.5% to $14.17, while JetBlue Airways and AMR Corp. both lost more than 2%.
