COPENHAGEN (AFX) - Share prices closed higher, led by Novo Nordisk, recovering from recent losses, and H Lundbeck, brokers said.
The OMXC20 index closed 2.30 points higher at 364.98 and the OMXCB Benchmark index rose 2.42 points to 339.08.
The OMXC All Share index closed 2.72 points higher at 342.54 on turnover of 3.20 bln dkr.
Novo Nordisk B closed 7 dkr higher at 355.5 in a recovery from the recent spate of losses.
H Lundbeck rose 2.5 to 132 as investors digested the implications of yesterday's announcement that its depression treatment candidate Lu AA21004 will enter Phase II trials by the end of the third quarter this year. Lu AA21004 is Lundbeck's most advanced project in a new chemical class, the bis-aryl-sulphanyl amines, where the pharmacology is markedly different from any currently marketed antidepressants.
Coloplast fell 5 to 434.
Danisco was down 4 at 417, while Novozymes added 1 to 381.5. Chemical maker DuPont said Tuesday evening it will begin marketing biofuels for the transportation sector next year through a partnership with oil company BP PLC. The two Danish companies are supply enzymes that can produce ethanol, another biofuel for transport.
GN Store Nord rose 1.75 to 68.25, with investors ignoring a cut in target price to 75 dkr from 85 at UBS, which sees a narrowed earnings margin at its hearing aid business. The brokerage reiterated its 'neutral' rating.
William Demant Holding added 2.5 to 412.5, while Vestas Wind Systems shed 2 to 144.
FLSmidth added 1 to 211. The group won a 35 mln eur order from Fars & Khuzestan Cement Co's Abyek Cement unit to expand and modernise a cement production line in Iran.
Carlsberg B rose 14.5 to 407, rebounding from yesterday's fall.
DS Torm was up 14.5 at 257.5 on higher shipping rates, dealers said.
DSV was down 25 at 906 after yesterday's sharp rise.
AP Moeller-Maersk A added 200 to 46,900, while the B-shares were unchanged at 47,600.
