Henry Weinhard's, the pioneering producer of small-batch handcrafted beer in the Pacific Northwest, today introduced Henry Weinhard's Organic Amber Premium Ale.
Born from locally grown organic barley and natural hops, Organic Amber Premium Ale is USDA-certified organic to meet the strict standard that more than 95 percent of its ingredients are grown without the use of pesticides and chemicals.
Henry Weinhard's Organic Amber Premium Ale is a smooth, full-bodied ale brewed with two-row malt and Mt. Hood and Simcoe hops. It contains 5.25 percent alcohol by volume. The new brew will be available this month in Idaho, Oregon and Washington where Henry Weinhard's products are sold at retail in 6-packs of non-returnable 12 oz. bottles and on draft in restaurants and bars. Suggested retail price ranges from $7.49 - $7.99 for a 6-pack.
"To tap into the growing interest in organic food and beverages, we have created a beer that features the natural purity of premium ingredients from the Pacific Northwest, said Scott Ortega, brand director for Henry Weinhard's line of craft beers. "Henry Weinhard's Organic Amber Ale is an exceptionally clean, fresh tasting beer that is true to our founder's high standards of handcrafted brewing.
Henry Weinhard's Organic Amber is the brewer's third new offering in as many years. Henry Weinhard's Classic Dark Lager was introduced as the brewer's first seasonal offering in fall of 2005. Classic Dark immediately won praise from consumers and accolades within the brewing community earning the gold medal in the American-Style Dark Lager at the 2006 World Beer Cup awards. Following this success, Henry Weinhard's added Summer Wheat to its lineup in April 2006.

Today, under the ownership of Miller Brewing Company, Henry Weinhard's beers are still skillfully made in the state of Oregon at Full Sail Brewery in Hood River with the same dedication and entrepreneurial spirit as when Henry Weinhard brewed the beer himself.
