Vision Upright MRI announced today it has purchased an UPRIGHT Multi-Position MRI from FONAR Corporation, Melville, New York. Mark Lammers, President of Vision Upright MRI, LLC. said, "Vision MRI has been a leading provider of outpatient MRI service to the San Jose medical community for the past 12 years. However, we found that scanning patients lying down often misses the potential injury from being visible, and many people cannot tolerate being in a tube. Our Upright, Multi-Position MRI offers an alternative to the conventional tube magnet and allows us to provide accurate diagnosis and sensitive patient care."
FONAR (NASDAQ:FONR), the Inventor of MR Scanning, announced the sale to Vision Upright MRI on July 10, 2007, when it announced the sale of seven UPRIGHT Multi-Position MRI scanners that took place within a two-week period.
"Vision Upright MRI now has the only MRI that has the ability to perform Upright, weight-bearing and Multi-Position imaging," said Mr. Lammers. "Patients can be scanned standing, sitting, in flexion, extension, rotation and lateral bending, as well as the usual "˜lie-down' position."
"With our new Multi-Position MRI, you can walk in, sit down and watch TV during your scan and walk out. The FONAR UPRIGHT MRI is quiet, and claustrophobic reactions to it are virtually non-existent."
"The FONAR Multi-Position MRI is able to put the patient in the position necessary to provide the most accurate diagnosis and, in particular, it can put the patient in the position that generates symptoms. The referring doctors will be able to make a far more comprehensive and accurate evaluation of the patients' conditions. This will enable them to execute more precise treatment and more accurate surgery, if that is needed. FONAR's new technology allows the patient to be scanned in weight-bearing positions. This new UPRIGHT MRI scanner offers unparalleled quality, power and ability to detect problems other scanners miss," said Mr. Lammers.
Vision MRI was the first to bring open MRI to San Jose. Now, 12 years later, Vision Upright MRI is able to redefine the meaning of open MRI with Multi-Position MRI technology. Vision Upright MRI is located at 828 South Bascom, #110, two blocks off of 280 and directly across from the Valley Medical Center. Office hours are 7 am to 7 pm, Monday through Friday, with some Saturday appointments available. For more information visit: www.visionmri.com
