"How much to pay for an acquisition?" is just one of the many questions that will be answered at the 2008 Phoenix Mergers & Acquisitions Conference. Sponsored by the M&A Source and hosted by Capital Advice, a local investment bank, the one-day conference will be held Wednesday, January 16, 2008, at The Buttes Resort in Tempe, Ariz. The conference theme is "A Master Class Presentation - How to Buy a Company as a Corporate Growth Strategy."
"Given the rapid growth in M&A activity during the past few years and the wealth of well-managed and entrepreneurial companies in Arizona and throughout the southwest, the conference is taking place at the right time and in the right place," said Walter Lipski, former chairman of the M&A Source and host of the Phoenix conference. Lipski expects 200-225 people to attend, including CEOs and CFOs of middle-market companies with annual sales between $50 million and $150 million, as well as a variety of professionals who assist with transactions, including attorneys, lenders, CPAs and private equity professionals.
The M&A Source, the largest international organization of intermediaries focused on middle-market companies, has conducted similar conferences in 2007; locations have included Chicago, Boston and Pittsburgh. Hosting the Phoenix event will be Capital Advice, a Scottsdale-based regional investment banking firm that specializes in providing M&A advisory services to entrepreneurs whose companies have annual revenues between $5 million and $50 million.
Event sponsors are now being sought. Sponsors at the highest level - Platinum - will have their organization's logo prominently displayed on all conference materials and be granted speaking opportunities on the panels.
Registration is $195 in advance, with discounts available for early registration, multiple registrants from the same organization and for students.
