
Citizen-Solders of the California National Guard's 40th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (40th IBCT) are on the ground, fully-equipped and taking up positions around the San Diego area. Soldiers from units throughout the State are presently flowing into the area and will augment forces who are already in position, the IBCT has announced.
"Within four hours of the Governor's mobilization citizen-solders of the California Army National Guard were in position to support local authorities and provide a safe and secure environment in the affected area," said Colonel Eric Grimm, Deputy Commander of the 40th IBCT.
