Electronic Evidence Discovery, Inc., (EED) a leader in full service eDiscovery solutions, today announced the appointment of Robert Cruz as director of business alliances. Cruz comes to EED with more than 16 years of sales and business development experience, most recently serving as vice president of sales and business development for Enterra Solutions, an early stage provider of process automation technology, where he led the company's commercial sales and channel development activities.
As director of business alliances, Cruz is responsible for managing EED's strategic alliances and building a partner ecosystem to increase the value of services and solutions required by the Fortune 500 and the NLJ (National Law Journal) 250. His initial focus will be to continue to optimize the client engagement model with IBM and IBM partner UK company, Altien Ltd.
"Corporate Legal Departments of frequently litigated corporations are moving faster in 2008 to design and implement process and technology solutions to consistently respond to litigation demands, reduce costs. Together EED and IBM are meeting the needs of corporate legal departments looking for eDiscovery process design, and service outsourcing. EED provides complementary and specialized services and software to enable corporations to leverage their investment in IBM enterprise content management," said David McCann, president and chief executive officer at EED. "Robert will play a key role in enabling IBM's client facing organizations to leverage and target EED's eDiscovery products and services to the right accounts at the right time."
Prior to Enterra, Robert was responsible for initiating and managing IBM FileNet's strategic alliance activities with HP, Sun, BEA, Siebel Systems, Adobe Systems, and IBM prior to the company's acquisition by IBM in 2006. As a result, he brings deep expertise in Document Management, Email Management, Records Management and Compliance applications.
"EED has a great reputation and proven history of helping Fortune 250 companies reduce their legal exposure," added Cruz. "The company's new partnership with IBM delivers an unprecedented, integrated services offering and technology solution that is serving IT and legal departments' growing eDiscovery needs. Additional service and technology partnerships are also likely to be required by our corporate and law firm clients to fully automate their eDiscovery processes."
Cruz began his career within the Professional Services business units at Sun Microsystems and Hewlett-Packard. Robert earned a master's degree in business administration at Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
