FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - Kim Roegner, display advertising director of The Courier-Journal in Louisville, Ky., has been named president and publisher of the Fort Collins Coloradoan.
'Kim has shown great leadership in all of her roles. She will do an excellent job as president and publisher at the Fort Collins Coloradoan,' said Bob Dickey, president of U.S. Community Publishing for Gannett Co. Inc., which owns the Coloradoan and 84 other U.S. newspapers. 'We are confident that her success at Louisville will continue as she takes on this new responsibility.'
Roegner, 38, replaces Christine Chin, who resigned last month.
'There's a tremendous energy in this community. People are friendly,' Roegner said. 'I'm excited to be here.'
She and her husband, Craig Roegner, have a 4-month-old son, Donovan James Noah Roegner.
Roegner has been display advertising director at The Courier-Journal since 2006. Prior to Louisville, she was retail advertising manager and advertising director at the Pensacola (Fla.) News Journal.
She has also worked at the Valley News Dispatch in Tarentum, Pa., the North Hills News Record in Mars, Pa., the Herald-Dispatch in Huntington, W. Va., and the Marietta (Ohio) Times.
She is a graduate of Penn State University with a B.A. in advertising.
