Savant Protection today announces the appointment of Mike Pittenger as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. In his new role, Mike will be responsible for sales, marketing and strategic alliances.

Mike joins Savant Protection from Veracode, an application security company he co-founded in 2005 as a spinout from Symantec. At Veracode, Mike managed operations, finance, and business development. Prior to Veracode, Mike served as Vice President and General Manager of the Products Division for @stake, a security consultancy acquired by Symantec, also the developer of several award winning security products including l0phtCrack, WebProxy and SmartRisk Analyzer, Information Security Magazine's 2004 Product of the Year. Prior to @stake, Mike was Vice President of International Sales and Vice President of Business Development for Authentica, a leader in Digital Rights Management, which was ultimately acquired by EMC.

Earlier in his career, Mike held senior positions in management, corporate development, marketing and operations with several high tech and consumer product companies. Mike holds an AB from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Bentley College.
