Provident Group’s Holly Creek multi-family apartment community in The Woodlands, Texas received the Exemplary Family Development award from the National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA), headquartered in Alexandria, Va. Provident Resources Group is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation that provides facilities and services to lessen the financial burdens of state and local governments. Its facilities and services are related to healthcare, senior living, affordable housing, government services, education and the environment.
Prior to receiving the Exemplary Family Development recognition, a multifamily community must first receive recognition as a national NAHMA Community of Quality (COQ). It is through the COQ program that federally subsidized affordable multifamily rental properties are acknowledged for: their excellent physical, financial and social conditions; a high standard of excellence in the quality of life they offer to residents; the level of resident involvement in community life; and the nature of collaborations with other organizations and agencies that contribute to the lives of residents and the larger community. Once designated a COQ community, NAHMA’s judges then reviewed a 1500-word essay detailing why Holly Creek qualified for the Exemplary Family Development award, the COQ application and any supplementary materials to determine the recipients of the award.
“This award recognizes our commitment and capability to provide quality management services and add value to the communities that we serve,” said Steve Hicks, president and CEO of Provident Resources Group. “Our programs, facilities and personnel are carefully managed to meet the needs of our residents, and this nationally recognized Exemplary Family Development award for Holly Creek is recognition that we are fulfilling our mission to provide comfortable, quality housing for low income families.”
Provident Group was honored for Holly Creek’s resident services and programs, such as: providing after-school youth programs; diabetes workshops; financial assistance programs; emotional assistance programs; and wellness workshops. Many of these programs were conducted in partnership with local churches, medical providers, counseling services, police departments, the YMCA, and the United Way.
