UBS said Jean-Francois Beusoleil would lead the western region, Roger von Mentlen the central and northern region, Thomas Ulrich the Zurich region and Stephan Bodmer the eastern Switzerland and Ticino region with immediate effect.
A UBS spokesman said the changes would not mean any more job cuts than the 600 to 800 positions it already plans to cut in Switzerland as part of thousands of job losses globally.
'In the regions, we are strengthening the identity of UBS as a Swiss bank. UBS is doing everything it can to again be a reliable and predictable partner for each client in Switzerland,' Switzerland CEO Franco Morra said in a statement.
UBS is struggling to rebuild its once powerful brand and focus on its core Swiss business after massive investments in risky U.S. assets forced it to make more writedowns than any other European bank and accept government backing.
UBS said Manuel Leuthold, current head of the western region, would move to head the private client business, while wealth management would be led by Walter Arnold, who previously had a top role in the international wealth management business.
Fulvio Micheletti remains in charge of the small and medium sized companies business.
