Connecticut Firm Recognized for Design and Innovation in the Broadcast Industry
The IABM (International Association of Broadcasting Manufacturers) has announced that the winner of this year’s prestigious Peter Wayne Award is Winchester Electronics.The Award, which was presented at the annual IBC Show in Amsterdam on September 12, is one of the most sought-after in the broadcast equipment industry andheralds leadership in technical design and innovation.
Winchester Electronics won for its new EL-Series ™ Fiber Optic Video Jack, which provides the missing link to realizing an all fiber broadcast facility. The breakthrough enables replacement of existing coaxial copper components or traditional ferrule-based fiber connectors with an expanded light beam connection technology and manually actuated fiber switch.This allows fiber links to be broken and new signals inserted without “going behind the rack” and disturbing installed fiber.
In addition to winning the Peter Wayne Award, the product received the STAR (Superior Technology Award Recipient) from TV Technology Europe.
