Mobility as a Service Delivers Visibility, Control, Compliance to Mobile Management
Fiberlink Communications Corporation, the creator and developer of cloud-based Mobility as a Service (MaaS) solutions, today announced that the MaaS360® Mobile services now supports laptops, netbooks and other mobile devices with Qualcomm Incorporated's Gobi™ connectivity technology.
"Our platform delivers advanced controls for the Gobi chipset allowing security compliance and cost controls regardless of the Mobile Device or Carrier," said Chris Isbrecht, director of Product Management, Mobile Service. "This is a significant step forward for reporting on any and all carrier connections from a mobile device."
The MaaS360 Mobile Service now makes it even easier for mobile workers to connect to a wide range of wireless and wired networks with Gobi embedded modules in laptops, netbooks, distributed PCs, mobile devices and Gobi USB modems. Gobi technology is the first embedded mobile wireless solution that takes advantage of the different high-speed wireless networking technologies deployed around the world, allowing users to connect to the Internet beyond Wi-Fi hot spots. Qualcomm recently announced future Gobi support for e-readers, gaming devices and M2M commercial applications.
Advanced integration with the Qualcomm Gobi API allows Fiberlink to provide a hardware and carrier agnostic connection management solution. The MaaS360 Management Center gives enterprise IT managers and finance groups greater control over security compliance and telecom/carrier cost controls.
At International CTIA WIRELESS 2010, Fiberlink will be showcasing its software with Gobi technology at Qualcomm's booth #2439 in Central Hall 4.
