Company Adds Industry Veterans Michael Luna and Tamara Steffens; David Ratner Promoted to COO
SEVEN® Networks today announced that Michael Luna has joined the company as chief technology officer, and Tamara Steffens as executive vice president of worldwide field operations. At the same time, David Ratner was promoted to COO. All of the executives will report to Ross Bott, SEVEN president and CEO.
The market for push technology is exploding, driven by the rapid adoption of mobile data services and consumer-oriented messaging services as well as new requirements from carriers to deploy mobile applications that operate efficiently on their networks. This market growth is reflected in SEVEN's continued profitability since 2009. The expansion of the executive team will help the company manage the success of its mobile applications and push platform while accelerating technology innovation.
Joining SEVEN as its new CTO, Luna is a pioneer in the wireless data industry with more than 30 years of management and engineering design experience. Prior to this position, Luna held leadership positions with AliphCom, Openwave Systems and 724 Solutions. Luna has co-authored industry standards and held industry leadership positions in OMA, WAP Forum, CDG, TIA and PCMIA.
Steffens joins the company as its new EVP of worldwide field operations bringing 20 years of sales management experience to the SEVEN team. As a telecom veteran, Steffens has served in various executive sales positions at FusionOne, Intelliden, Openwave Systems and 724 Solutions.
David Ratner is serving as SEVEN's new COO. Ratner has extensive experience across the wireless industry in engineering, business strategy, and product management, development and delivery. Prior to working with SEVEN, Ratner held positions with Carrier Access at Software.com and Openwave Systems.
