Will Help Group Better Understand Full Scope of Environmental Issues and Compliance
Dimension Data, the $4 billion global IT services and solutions provider, has taken another step in its strategy to report its carbon footprint, and track energy and waste reduction goals. The company said today that it will centralize its carbon footprint reporting, and provide organization-wide monitoring of its carbon and waste reduction goals.
Merle Singer, Dimension Data's Global Director - Sustainability said, "Currently, Dimension Data voluntarily reports its carbon footprint as it strives to monitor the impact of its operations on the environment. Taking the next step and implementing leading-edge software will allow us to further monitor, measure and manage our environmental impact."
Plans are for the Group, which operates in 49 countries across five continents, to migrate from a spreadsheet reporting system to a cloud-based software platform. This will allow for the centralization of carbon footprint reporting, and the flexibility to adjust to changing reporting requirements.
"In addition, Dimension Data will be able to move from static annual reporting to quarterly reporting. The system will also help us better understand the full scope of environmental issues such as energy consumption habits, compliance and financial considerations," explains Singer.
The software, from Enviance, Inc., a global provider of Environmental ERP software, will be deployed across Dimension Data's Europe and Australia operations first, followed by the Americas, Middle East & Africa, and Asia.
