Attracts Key Regional and Global Industry Spokespeople
The petrochemical market is rapidly expanding and the Middle East is quickly becoming the supply hub to feed this growth. A combination of rapid growth, future needs, and increasingly stringent regulations creates many questions that need to be answered in order for the industry to build supply chains that are sustainable and responsive to quick changes.
The Second GPCA Supply Chain Conference, to be held 24-26 October at the Gulf Convention Center in Manama, Bahrain will address these issues and discuss best practices to ensure products are distributed to customers in a quick, safe, cost-effective, and socially responsible way.
The GPCA Supply Chain Conference has the support of Bahrain's Oil and Gas Minister and Chairman of the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) Abdulhussain Mizra, who will be opening the conference with a keynote. Several industry leaders will also be sharing their experiences at this event: Saleh I. Al-Shabnan, Project Executive, Supply Chain Management Project (EMDAD), SABIC; Frank Luijckx, Director Business Services EMEA, Dow Europe GmbH; Mitchell Silver, Project Development Director/Bulk Polymer Shipping Project, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines; Abdulaziz S. Al-Bati, Vice Chairman of GPCA Supply Chain Committee and General Manager, Supply Chain, TASNEE Petrochemical Complex; Mansour S. Al-Mohana, Internal Audit Chief, SABIC Terminal Services Company (SABTANK); Christiaan Teulings, Vice President, Supply Chain Management, Borouge, Theo Zwygers, VP/Supply Chain Europe, Asia and International, LyondellBasell, and more.
"The first GPCA Supply Chain Conference was extremely successful and with such high level speakers this year, we anticipate even more interest from global and regional petrochemical executives," said Dr. Abdulwahab Al-Sadoun, Secretary General, Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA).
This high-level industry event will review all aspects of the supply chain: issues around transporting liquid and bulk products via land or sea, global standards and regulations, what the Middle East companies are doing to ensure supplies are delivered safely, and how companies can deliver their goods in an inexpensive and socially responsible manner.
Speakers will also provide updates on projects and plans in process to get the Middle East supply chain infrastructure up and ready to meet the world's appetite for chemicals. Also included in this high-level event is a workshop covering global standards for the transportation of hazardous materials. This workshop will review the standards in place, and how each can be applied successfully in the Middle East.
The Second GPCA Supply Chain Conference will be held 24-26 October at the Gulf Convention Center, Gulf Hotel, Bahrain. For more information please visit www.gpcasupplychain.com.
About the Gulf Petrochemicals & Chemicals Association
Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA) is the first such association to represent the interests of the industry in the Middle East and it has brought a major dimension to its task by creating both a forum for discussion and a place where likeminded people can meet and share concepts and ideas. Since its inception in March 2006, the GPCA has earned the enviable reputation for steering the regional industry towards a whole new level of co-operation and raising the standard in terms of common ground interests.
As the regions' Petrochemicals and Chemicals Industry's most respected representative body, GPCA will continue its efforts to enhance the role of the region in international debate and policy making while always ensuring that its doors are always open to its members and it acts as a catalyst for focusing attention on matters on issues relevant to the industry.
GPCA's mission is singular and specific in that it intends to support the growth and sustainable development of the petrochemical and chemical industries in the Gulf in partnership with its members and stakeholders and be both a sounding board and a meeting point for debate and discussion.
