CellControl™ (www.cellcontrol.com), a leading provider of distracted driving solutions, announced four industry partnerships while at the Department of Transportation's Distracted Driving Summit (http://www.distraction.gov/2010summit/) in Washington, D.C. These partnership structures illustrate CellControl's multi-pronged strategy for serving the commercial fleet markets, particularly those fleets issuing phones, laptops or other mobile devices to its employees. "By offering alternative ways of doing business to our business partners and supporting government initiatives like this Summit, we can more effectively deliver our solutions to domestic and international fleet customers, thus reducing costs, managing risks, and saving lives through the reduction of distracted driving and enforcement of mobile device policies," stated Chuck Cox, Chief Executive Officer of CellControl.
A new partnership with inthinc Technology Solutions (www.inthinc.com), a company centered on telematics and fleet safety, reflects CellControl's Solutions Partnerhip strategy. "We will utilize inthinc's highly sophisticated in-vehicle communications capabilities to trigger and integrate our distracted driving solution," stated Cox. "Inthinc's offerings are groundbreaking, safe driving systems that were developed with a focus on innovative technology, driver behavior and customer success; this safety leadership makes them a natural partner for us and we are pleased to have been chosen to service their commercial fleet customers."
CellControl announced its first Master Reseller and Distributor partnership with LifeCycle Mobile, an innovative provider of enterprise mobility and safety solutions focused on the complete lifecycle and usage of any mobile technology solution. LifeCycle founders Jim Surber and Jack Lavender reviewed numerous available distracted driving solutions, and "we engaged with CellControl because the CellControl solutions uniquely integrate the vehicle with the mobile device and the Internet, thus delivering an accurate, reliable and enforceable solution" stated Surber.
A previously announced partnership with IronBridge Partners, an insurance advisory firm focused on risk management and loss reduction, is an example of a CellControl Reseller Partnership. In this instance, IronBridge leverages its C-level relationships with the world's largest and leading underwriters of commercial and personal vehicle insurance to construct premium discounts and customers affinity programs through safer driving with CellControl.
Finally, a Referral Partnership was announced with Safety Alert Network (www.safetyalert.com), which delivers fleet monitoring and GPS-based location services to more than 50,000 vehicles for more than 500 companies. Safety Alert actively monitors vehicles on the road, and provides instant direct feedback to drivers when unsafe driving is reported. Safety Alert and CellControl have devised specific strategies to monitor and reduce distracted driving on the road, particularly when caused by texting while driving, in-motion usage of laptops, or the inappropriate use of mobile phones without hands-free capabilities.
These partnerships were announced at the Department of Transportation's Distracted Driving Summit, hosted by Secretary Ray LaHood, to emphasize the evolving awareness, responsibility and ownership of the dangers of distracted driving. "When corporations or government agencies provide mobile productivity and communications devices to their employees, they must also take responsibility for actively enforcing their policies regarding in-vehicle usage," stated Cox. "These mobile devices are important and in many cases mission critical, but endangering lives and property through out-of-policy usage must be prevented."
