B. Riley & Co. LLC, a full service broker dealer providing research and trading to institutional clients and investment banking services, today announced that John Ahn has been named President and Head of Corporate Finance. The company also announced that Ryan J. Bernath and Bradley T. Nii have joined the firm as Managing Directors in Corporate Finance; all will be based in the Los Angeles office.
Mr. Ahn is currently a managing director in the Investment Banking Group. He also is a Principal at Riley Investment Management, the asset management affiliate of B. Riley and has served on numerous public company boards. He joined the firm in 2004 and has a wide range of experience in capital raising, debt restructuring, trading, and sales of distressed debt and equities.
Mr. Nii joins as a Managing Director. Prior to B. Riley, Mr. Nii served as Principal and Head of West Coast Sponsor Finance at American Capital, Ltd. Prior to American Capital, Mr. Nii was a Senior Vice President in Lehman Brothers' Investment Banking Division responsible for financial sponsors coverage and technology. Mr. Nii is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.
Mr. Bernath joins B. Riley as a Managing Director with more than 15 years of experience in merger and acquisition and capital raise assignments in industries such as consumer non-durables, apparel/retail, and real estate. Prior to joining the firm, he was a Senior Vice President in the Investment Banking Division, Business & Professional Services Group at Lehman Brothers, Inc. Mr. Bernath is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Southern California and received his MBA with honors from UCLA's Anderson School of Management.
