
Former Health Insurance Counsel Joins the New Jersey-Based Managed Care Provider
Aveta Inc., one of the nation's largest providers of managed healthcare services, announced today the addition of Arpita Bathani as assistant general counsel.
Bathani's primary responsibility will be to assist the chief lawyer of Aveta's legal department. In this role, she will consult on all legal matters concerning the company. She will report to Paul Klausner, General Counsel.

Bathani has several years experience providing legal counsel within the healthcare industry and is admitted to practice law in New York, New Jersey and Michigan. Most recently she was the Assistant General Counsel – Health Care Affairs Law at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan in Detroit. In that role, she advised the business and functional unit leadership on legal requirements and provided legal support for the provider network management department as well as in other areas of the company.
She also served as a contract lawyer, legal assistant and law clerk in the Office of the General Counsel Blue Cross Blue Shield. Bathani was a law clerk in the United States Attorney's Office and for Judge Annette J. Berry, both in Detroit.

Bathani earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. She completed both her undergraduate degree and a master's degree in public health at the University of Michigan. She is a member of the American Bar Association and has been active in other professional organizations such as the International Law Society.
