On May 4, Intrepid Travel (www.intrepidtravel.com) will be giving Bostonians the chance to win free international trips (Thailand! Here's how it will work: Eight (8) individual globes, ranging in size and color, will be placed in various high-traffic locations in the Boston area between 8am and 4pm. Attached to the globes will be a "boarding pass" that explains the prize and instructions on how to redeem it. Some of the globes will give away free Intrepid trips for two in destinations including Costa Rica, Alaska and others. Other globes will offer vouchers for up to $1,000 off an Intrepid trip. Consolation prizes for those who don't win a trip or an Intrepid voucher include books from Lonely Planet, vouchers for Merrell gear and Go Boston Cards from SmartDestinations.com.
Location clues will be live tweeted on May 4 from @Intrepid_Travel starting at 7:30am, and then the race is on to be the first to find the first globe! Once that is found, a new location will be tweeted, until approximately 4pm when all the globes have been found.
A media alert with a selection of locations and times for photo opportunities will be available on April 29 for media planning purposes and photo opportunities.
