
Push for Marcellus Shale gas drilling tax featured
Citizens for Pennsylvania's Future (PennFuture) today announced its "Fair Share Tour" will visit Delaware County on Monday, May 16, 2011 at 8 a.m. in the Community Center Room of the Media Borough Building, 301 N. Jackson Street, Media, PA. The tour provides free town hall meetings to alert residents of the Keystone State to the need to make sure the Pennsylvania General Assembly passes a substantial tax on deep natural gas drillers in the Marcellus Shale formation.
Speakers at the Delaware County breakfast meeting include:
- Senator Dominic Pileggi (R-Delaware and Chester);
- Senator Edwin Erickson (R-Delaware and Chester);
- Representative Greg Vitali (D-Delaware);
- Andrew Heath, Executive Director, Renew Growing Greener Coalition;
- Sharon Ward, Executive Director, Pennsylvania Budget and Policy Center;
- Oliver Bass, Vice-President for Communications, Natural Lands Trust;
- Olivia Thorne, President, League of Women Voters of Pennsylvania; and
- Jan Jarrett, President and CEO, Citizens for Pennsylvania's Future.
Additional stops on the tour are set for State College on Friday, May 20 and Williamsport on June 3. All tour stops are free, include refreshments, and open to the public, but pre-registration is required. There will be no onsite registration.
