
Vestcom, the leading provider of customized shelf-edge communications and specialized marketing services for the retail industry, today announced the appointment of George Wishart as the company's chief commercial officer. Wishart will lead Vestcom's sales, marketing and product management teams in driving the company's continued strategy to help retailers implement in-store communications that reduce costs, engage shoppers and drive sales at the point of decision. Wishart brings to Vestcom deep knowledge of the retail industry, having spent 11 years of his career with Kraft Foods, including the role of president of Jacob Suchard International, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kraft Foods. Wishart will report to Vestcom's chairman and CEO, John Lawlor.

Most recently, Wishart served as president and CEO of Trilogy Payment Services Inc., a Nevada-based retailer consumer bill payment service focused on merchant processing services. Prior to that, Wishart served as global managing director of Nielsen In-Store, where in 2008 he was awarded the industry Media Mavens Award by Advertising Age magazine. Subsequently in 2010 he was asked by Advertising Age to author an industry whitepaper on shopper marketing.
Wishart first joined Nielsen, then VNU, in 1999 to lead its retail geo-demographic targeting business. In 2000 VNU appointed Wishart president and CEO of MediaPlan, prior to him merging MediaPlan with Interactive Market Systems to create the leading provider of systems and solutions for the media industry, conducting business globally in 68 countries.
