ProComm, an Associa company, is proud to announce Assistant Vice President Sandra Vela-Mora, CMCA, AMS, PCAM, was recently named the President-Elect for the Community Associations Institute (CAI) San Antonio Chapter.
Vela-Mora was recently awarded the President's Award by current CAI San Antonio President Tom Newton. She was recognized as the person who was the greatest help to Newton while he began his the duties as President, while also acting as someone who has made significant contributions overall to the entire chapter.
She was selected as President-Elect by the CAI Board prior to the Award. These two sequential positions (President-Elect and President) will be the first time a ProComm staffer has been appointed to either post within the chapter. She began her term as President-Elect in January and steps into the President's position in 2013.
Vela-Mora has been in the property management profession for more than 15 years and has specialized in managing Homeowners Associations for over 13 years. During that time, she has worked to obtain the professional designations in the association management career field of Professional Community Association Manager, (PCAM) and Association Management Specialist, (AMS) awarded by Community Associations Institute, and Certified Manager of Community Associations, (CMCA) awarded by the National Board of Certification for Community Association Managers (NBC-CAM).
On September 20, 2007, Vela-Mora joined the Associa-ProComm family and is instrumental in the company's training, supervising, continuing education and support of the Association Managers for each ProComm branch. In addition to these duties, she serves as a second level of support for each Board and specializes as ProComm's senior management contact for developing communities.
Vela-Mora is actively involved with the San Antonio Chapter of Community Association's Institute (CAI) by serving on the Board of Directors. She also established and heads the Social Media and Public Relations efforts for the chapter.
