Celebrity moms provide people across the country the opportunity to support families in need with one act of kindness
Actresses and mothers Tiffani Thiessen ("White Collar") and Elisabeth Röhm ("Law & Order") today issue a nationwide call for kindness in support of Baby Buggy, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing essential equipment, products, clothing, and services to families in need. Through an initiative entitled Do the KIND Thing, Tiffani and Elisabeth are challenging people across the country to carry out one act of kindness; if enough individuals pledge to participate by March 6th, the celebrity moms will deliver diapers and other vital items to impoverished families in NYC and LA via Baby Buggy.
"More and more families are facing poverty every day. In fact, in California alone, a child is born into poverty every five minutes," explained Tiffani.
"This is an issue that cannot afford to be overlooked, and we are thrilled to Do the KIND Thing in support of Baby Buggy and give people everywhere the opportunity to be a part of the solution – simply by carrying out one act of kindness," added Elisabeth.
In an effort to address the needs of struggling families, Tiffani and Elisabeth have both called on people to carry out one act of kindness by lending a helping hand to a parent, which could mean holding a door for a mom or dad with a stroller or babysitting free of charge. If enough people visit KINDmovement.com and accept this challenge by March 6th, Tiffani and Elisabeth will both pay it forward in support of Baby Buggy and deliver diapers and other necessary parenting supplies to families in need in NYC and LA, respectively.
As busy mothers themselves, Tiffani and Elisabeth are aiming to bring attention to this important cause, as well as to exemplify the power that every individual has to make a difference in the lives of others, even if through one simple act of kindness.
"We are grateful to Do the KIND Thing and Baby Buggy for providing the platform and resources to make tangible improvements in the lives of other new parents who wish to provide their children with a bright future," said Tiffani.
"We are thankful for Tiffani, Elisabeth, and KIND Healthy Snacks for their generous support of Baby Buggy," said Katherine Snider, Executive Director of Baby Buggy. "It takes approximately two hours of minimum wage work to buy one package of diapers in cities like Los Angeles and New York City, and through this unique partnership with Do the KIND Thing, we will be able to reduce the burden so many parents face."
Elle Stassen of KIND Healthy Snacks (the organization behind Do the KIND Thing) echoed Katherine's appreciation, adding "we are so pleased to be partnering with these exemplary mothers and Baby Buggy to shine a light on this wide-reaching issue, as well as to help make the world a little kinder in the process."
