Monarch announced today that Brad Carr has been promoted to President of the Canadian homebuilder. Monarch Corporation is the Canadian homebuilding arm of U.S.-based homebuilder Taylor Morrison.
Carr, who previously served as Senior Vice President of the company's single-family division since 2004, assumes the job from Brian Johnston, who is leaving the company. Under Carr's leadership, the company's single-family division grew dramatically, becoming one of the industry's top-performing businesses. The division led all North American division sales in 2010 and 2011.
"I would like to thank Brian for his contribution over the years and wish Brad continued success in growing the Monarch brand," said Taylor Morrison President and CEO Sheryl Palmer. "Brad and his executive team have delivered exceptional results over the last several years and we are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead under his guidance. Senior Vice President Emilio Tesolin, who adds a wealth of experience, will continue to run our high-rise developments."
The company also announced that Senior Vice President and General Counsel David George, who has been a part of the Monarch team for the past 25 years, will assume the roles of executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary effective immediately.
Monarch's Canadian homebuilding operations consist of low-rise product in Ottawa and low- and high-rise product in the Toronto metropolitan area.
